What is Geography?
What are the 5 Themes of Geography?
The five themes of geography are key concepts that help us organize and study the world:
Location: Where a place is found, either by exact coordinates (absolute location) or its relation to other places (relative location).
Place: What makes a location unique, including its physical features (like mountains, climate, or plants) and human features (such as language, culture, and architecture).
Human-Environment Interaction: How humans interact with and modify their environment, whether by adapting to it or changing it to fit their needs.
Movement: The flow of people, goods, ideas, and information across the globe. This can include migration, trade, or the spread of technology.
Region: Areas that share common characteristics, such as culture, climate, or political boundaries. These can be formal, like countries or states, or informal, like "the South" or "Silicon Valley."
