Beyond the Answer
When you divide 3 by 9, you can simplify the fraction first, which gives you \( \frac{1}{3} \). When you perform the division, \(1 \div 3\) results in 0.333... This means that the decimal representation of \( \frac{3}{9} \) is approximately 0.333, which is a repeating decimal! Fun fact: Repeating decimals can be expressed with a bar over the repeating part. So for \(0.333...\), you can also write it as \(0.\overline{3}\). It’s a neat little trick that mathematicians love to use to keep track of those endless repetitions!
